The Games Men Play

Men,
Well known for playing games,
With hearts of maidens,
With engines of speed,
With virtual worlds,
Their toys don't change much as they grow up.
Their toys just cost a whole lot more.

The games men play,
With hearts of maidens,
Maddens friends, fathers and brothers alike,
Causing much grief and sorrow.
Breaking good hearts,
Making it hard for them to trust,
Manipulating maidens to ruin.

The games men play,
With engines of speed,
Throwing too much time and money on a lump of steel,
Burning rubber on tracks,
For kicks and giggles.
Their vehicles mean more to them than anything else.
Nobody can take that spot in their heart.
Not even a loved one.

The games men play,
With virtual worlds,
Characters became their obsession,
Fiction became their reality,
Make-believe made real.
No matter a book, TV show or video game,
Once obsession sets in,
That will be all he ever talks about.
